About McKoy Christiansen

McKoy Christiansen is a dedicated horse trainer with a wealth of experience in the equestrian industry. As the owner of Christiansen Performance Horses, he has been specializing in Reined Cow Horse training for the past four years.


Growing up in a horse-centric family, McKoy started his journey in AQHA and 4H before working alongside his father, Kirk Christiansen, in a colt starting operation in Emery, UT. His competitive spirit shines through, having participated in the Utah High School Rodeo as an All-Around Cowboy and competing at Nationals with his horse, Boon Shocker.


McKoy’s passion for training versatile cow horses reflects his belief in their exceptional capabilities, stating, “the foundation they have to go down the fence, cut from a herd, and rein, makes them the best horses on the ranch!”


With his wife Katie, McKoy works hard to individualize every horse and client bringing them into the training process with video updates and training lessons upon request.
